TOUGH FIGHT FOR QPR

QPR face a very tough fight in order to remain in the Premier league with just eight matches remaining in the season. They are a massive seven points adrift of safety.

Even though they managed to back-to-back victories recently, their main competitors like Aston Villa have also been able to pull away as well. According to QPR manager Harry Redknapp, the club needs to replicate the way that Barcelona play their football in order to have any chance of survival in the league.

Barcelona are regarded as one of the best teams in the world. They have managed to win the Champions League title twice in the last five years. Even though they are best known for their passing style of football, the work that goes on off the ball is also extremely important towards the success of the team. Barcelona remain as one of the high pressing teams, who do not give their opposition time and space on the ball. Redknapp reckons that QPR needs to adopt this similar strategy in the remaining eight games of the season.

Redknapp has had success with avoiding relegation with clubs in the past. However, this has always been seen as a very tough task for the former Tottenham manager, who replaced Mark Hughes a few months ago.

“The best teams work the hardest. People think the best teams just play football. It’s a fallacy. The best team in the world is Barcelona and they are hardest-working team. They work harder than anyone else without the ball and they work harder than anyone else with it. We’ve got to work hard too. It’s not a case of picking scrappers. Whoever I pick, whether they think they’re skilful players or not, they’ve all got to work,” said Redknapp. QPR will be making an away trip to Fulham during the weekend.
