Jermaine Jenas shares his opinion on the England squad

The former England midfielder now turned pundit has shared his opinion about the England team. He believes that Wayne Rooney should lead the attack in the Euro finals. He disagrees with people that state that Wayne Rooney slows down the England attack.

According to him, the Manchester United man has good experience of international games and should be beneficial for the national team at Euro 2016. If England wants to do well at the Euro finals, they will have to allow Wayne Rooney to start the first game in France.

Concerning midfield, Jermaine Jenas has stated that Jack Wilshere should be going to Euro 2016 ahead of Danny Drinkwater. Despite the fact that Wilshere has not kicked a ball this season, he believes that Roy Hodgson should pick the Arsenal midfielder if he is fit.

For Jenas, Wilshere is a similar player to Drinkwater, but he has more experience of the big games and will definitely help strengthen the England side in particular against the better sides.

To be fair, Danny Drinkwater has not been bad either. Although people has plebiscite Jamie Vardy and RiyadMahrez for Leicester’s good form this season, Drinkwater has also made a telling contribution to Leicester this term. On his form alone, he deserves to go to the Euros and represent his country.

Jermaine Jenas has made 21 appearances for England at the senior level with his first match being against Australia in February 2003. He will score only one goal during his England career. On the club level, Jermaine Jenas has played for Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers.

In the Premier League, he played for Newcastle United between 2001-2006 where he made 152 appearances and scored 12 goals. He then moved to Tottenham Hotspurs where he made 202 appearances and scored 26 goals.
