JENAS INJURY BLOW

Jermaine Jenas only recently signed for Aston Villa on a season long loan deal from Tottenham, but he has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an Achilles injury. This comes as a major blow for both Tottenham and Aston Villa.

Harry Redknapp would have been hoping that his player would come back is a strong player after some much-needed game time at Aston Villa, but the player is not only going to miss his loan spell, but also his opportunity to come back into the Tottenham side as well. Aston Villa and Tottenham have issued a statement stating that Jermaine Jenas has now undergone a surgery to repair the damage.

Jermaine Jenas suffered the injury in the match against Manchester United and was stretchered off. Aston Villa lost the match 1-0, but that was the least of Alex McLeish’s problems. The Aston Villa manager now has a real situation in his hands with regard to the midfield.

Signing Jermaine Jenas on loan help of Alex McLeish overcome some of the problems. However, it was not until November that Jermaine Jenas was able to make his debut for Aston Villa. He was earlier restricted from making his debut for Aston Villa due to the same Achilles problems, but it has now escalated to a whole new level.

“To lose a player of his talent and experience is bad enough, but never to have seen him play enough in the Villa shirt for our fans to appreciate the player he is, that’s terrible bad luck. Obviously, we wish Jermaine as speedy a recovery as possible and a full recovery, too. He has been a great professional to have at the club since he arrived on loan in August,” Alex McLeish said when asked about Jermaine Jenas and his injury.
