FOREST WANT JENAS

Nottingham Forest are looking to make Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas as their marquee signing in the summer transfer window. The former Newcastle United midfielder has been marginalised that Tottenham after the arrival of Harry Redknapp.

The situation is not expected to improve even after the arrival of new manager Andre Villas-Boas. Even though the Portuguese has admitted that he is willing to give all the players a chance to prove themselves, he is extremely focused on the young players at the club. At 30 years of age, the former England midfielder cannot expect many opportunities under the former Chelsea manager.

As a result, it is thought that he is willing to make a permanent move away from the club after spending the last two seasons on loan at various clubs. Nottingham Forest have emerged as the surprise destination for the midfielder. The club, which are backed by the Arabian owners, are extremely keen on getting the club back into the Premier league. As a result, they are looking to make some important signings in this summer transfer window. Jermaine Jenas has a key role to play in this spending spree because he will be positioned as the marquee signing of the club.

Jermaine Jenas will also be excited at the prospect of joining Nottingham Forest knowing that he will get regular football. It would also help him find his way back into the international fold. Even though he is now 30 years of age, the likes of Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker have proved that age is not a deterrent factor when it comes to establishing as an international midfielder. Aston Villa were extremely close to making the signing of Jermaine Jenas permanent until the major injury last season forced him to return to Tottenham. Jermaine Jenas is currently on the pre-season tour of the US.
