Newcastle United recently created headlines

Newcastle United recently created headlines by completing the expensive purchase of Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea City for more than £ 12 million.

This was certainly a huge gamble from the team given that they have been flirting with relegation throughout the campaign. After having already experienced the worst of relegation only a few years ago, Newcastle were not expected to spend so heavily in the January transfer window. Furthermore, they have decided to go for a young player with limited experience in the Premier League. The former Liverpool midfielder is undoubtedly a great talent, but he has failed to deliver at big clubs in the past.
