JENAS WILL FIGHT

Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has said that he will fight for his place at Nottingham Forest after recently extended his loan spell with the Championship team. The former Newcastle United midfielder has been on loan at Nottingham Forest in a bid to recover his full fitness.

He spent the last season on loan at Aston Villa before it was cut short by an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He has taken a long time to recover from this injury, which meant that he has lost his spot in the first time following the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas as a replacement for Harry Redknapp.

He has been sent out on loan to his former club Nottingham Forest, where he started his career, in a bid to resurrect his form. He has so far been brilliant for the Championship club, who have since expressed their desire to extend his loan spell. Nottingham Forest are currently closer to the play-offs position with a large part of the current form due to the midfielder Jermaine Jenas. His experience of top flight football coupled with the quality to be able to play for England have turned the fortunes of the once great club. They recently extended his contract by another two months in a bid to seal promotion to the Premier league.

“Look at the top, top players we have here. Lewis McGugan was sat next to me on the bench last weekend at Oakwell and, in the games I had seen, he had done very well. He is a top player and a goal threat. And we were also without Adlene (Guedioura), who was suspended, Henri Lansbury who was injured . . . that is four players who could not get on the pitch at the start,” said Jenas, who recognises that there are many good players in the squad apart from him.
